Grupo Ortiz made a solvent debut in the energy sector in 2007 with the purchase of Elecor and Elecfire. Iberproin, a company specialising in canalisations and primary and thermal energy facilities once held by Grupo Ortiz, also joined these two companies, thereby forming a single firm known as ELECOR.

In the final months of 2009, Grupo Ortiz acquired electricity companies Juan Galindo T&D and Tendidos y Redes del Sur, which operate in all of eastern Andalusia (Granada, Almería, Málaga and Jaén) and have come to complement the energy goods and services marketed by Grupo Ortiz.

As a result of the growth in activity and the extensive experienced gained over the course of 2010, the company has made a great commitment to this sector through the creation of the company ORTIZ ENERGÍA. This company will bring together all of the Group businesses’ services and aid in the attainment of EPC contracts and further increase the company’s presence in these increasingly important markets.

In addition,   Grupo Ortiz companies comply with and implement the Energy Efficiency Technical Codes so that the new buildings we complete, for either residential, industrial or outside use, have the most sophisticated energy saving technology available, in regards to both the production and consumption of energy. For example, we can point out the energy measures implemented at the Group’s new Offices and the energy management of more than 500 residences over the last several years.
