Project description: The works consist of the construction of a third-level hospital with a surface area of 27,230 m2. The design of the hospital is based on an important principle: the hospital is designed around the patient, and his or her well-being is the main priority of the project. An outstanding feature is the steep slope of the plot, which has a gradient of around 20%, so the strategy has been to stagger the building on different levels to try to minimize the impact of the inevitable excavation. The design of the upper floors, which are the ones containing all the patient care rooms, places the latter in such a way that the vast majority of them are orientated in order to receive as many hours of sunshine (and light) as possible. Moreover, the slope not only allows us to take advantage of the sunshine, but also enables the rooms to have views over the city and the whole of the valley. This orientation is used not only in the floors containing the hospital rooms, but also in the main public spaces of the two lower levels, so that patients and their families enjoy these views from any point of these corridors (and waiting areas). The building has a series of regularly placed courtyards, which divide the internal services and allow daylight to enter most of the premises. In addition to the extremely valuable contribution of natural light, they are also used for natural ventilation and hygrometric control and provide pleasant views for patients and workers.

The hospital will have 35 specialized healthcare departments, a capacity of 276 beds and 29 doctor’s surgeries. Departments: Internal Medicine, Vascular Surgery, Cardiology, Proctology, Pneumology, Traumatology, Gastroenterology, Neurosurgery, Neurology, Otorhinolaryngology, Endocrinology, Ophthalmology, Nutrition, Urology, Nephrology, Plastic Surgery, Immunology, Burn Unit, Rheumatology, Maxillofacial Surgery, Haematology, Dentistry, Dermatology, Obstetrics, Geriatrics, Gynaecology, Paediatric Oncology, General Surgery, Neonatology, Abdominal Surgery, Paediatric Surgery, Thoracic Surgery, Paediatric Traumatology and Orthopaedics, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

Social Benefits:
