Demolition of the Windsor Building Madrid, Spain
On the night of 12 February 2005 a fire broke out in the Windsor Building located in the heart of Madrid's financial centre. The building, with 29 floors above ground level and 105 m high, was totally unusable but the structure did not collapse.
Grupo Ortiz was responsible for the demolition project from the rooftop to the third floor, executing the building's demolition project in 5 months, working 24 hours a day, restoring the circulation and the buildings vacated from the affected area on 1 September 2005.
