Water treatment plant in Santiago, Panama
Construction, rehabilitation, operation and maintenance of drinking water plant in Santiago de Veraguas, Panama. Grupo Ortiz provides the development and engineering of both materials and equipment in water treatment plants, the execution plant being a reference for the country. The project consists of the construction of the second module and the rehabilitation of the first module of the Santiago de Veraguas drinking water plant, as well as the operation and maintenance of both modules. The works include both the execution of new works and the rehabilitation of existing facilities. Project in progress, expected completion date January 2021.

With the execution of this hydraulic infrastructure, Grupo Ortiz has managed to introduce materials and equipment that are new to Panama, and it will also improve the conditions of drinking water supply to a population of some 100,000 inhabitants. A contract extension has been obtained for the rehabilitation of the raw water intake from the river, the construction of a new DN 700 water pipeline to the plant, as well as the modernisation of the drinking water treatment.
